This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) only — the hard drive itself is NOT included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This PCB is intended for use in data recovery or hard drive repair applications. Before purchasing, confirm that a replacement PCB will address your problem by consulting our hard drive diagnostics guide, and verify compatibility with the Donor Matching Guide. Most hard drive circuit boards store unique parameters in a ROM (memory) chip; that data is required for correct drive operation. The ROM chip or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board (or the new board must be reprogrammed). If the ROM chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transplant. For customers spending $60 or more, we include a complimentary adaptation service that covers either moving the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the proper ROM data.
