This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we maintain a large inventory of PCBs, the exact board you receive may vary slightly from the photo. Intended use: hard drive repair or data recovery. Most PCBs contain unique information stored in a ROM (memory) chip that is required for the drive to function correctly; that ROM chip or its data must be transferred to the replacement board. If the ROM can be moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transfer. For orders of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service — either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the new board with the correct ROM data.
