This sale includes the hard drive PCB / logic board only — no hard drive is included. Because we have a large inventory, the actual PCB you receive may differ slightly from the pictured unit. Intended for HDD repair and data recovery, this replacement board can be used to restore drive functionality when compatible. Before purchasing, confirm whether a PCB swap will resolve your problem by following our hard drive diagnostics guide, and verify part compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most HDD circuit boards contain unique information stored in a ROM memory chip; that ROM data is required for correct drive operation. The ROM chip, or its data, must be transferred to the replacement circuit board for the drive to work properly. If the ROM chip can be moved, a local computer technician should be able to carry out the transfer. For customers spending $60 or more, we provide a complimentary adaptation service that covers either moving the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
