This listing is for the hard drive printed circuit board (PCB / logic board) only — the hard drive mechanism is not included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Designed for use in data recovery and HDD repair, this PCB is intended as a replacement part for compatible 3.5" WD SATA drives. Most WD hard drive PCBs store unique service data in the ROM memory chip; that ROM data is required for proper operation. The ROM chip or its contents must be transferred or reprogrammed onto the replacement board. If you cannot perform the transfer yourself, a local computer technician can usually move the chip.
