This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we carry a large inventory of PCBs, the exact board you receive may vary slightly from the photo. Intended use: data recovery or hard drive repair. Most hard drive PCBs store unique calibration and configuration in a ROM (memory) chip; that ROM data is required for correct operation. The ROM chip or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board. If the chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transfer. For orders of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service that covers either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
