This sale is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we stock a large number of replacement PCBs, the actual board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This PCB is intended for use in data recovery or hard drive repair. Before purchasing, confirm that replacing the PCB will resolve your problem by following our hard drive diagnostics guide, and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most hard drive PCBs store unique drive-specific data in a ROM “memory” chip; that ROM information is required for the drive to function correctly. The ROM chip itself, or its contents, must be moved or copied onto the replacement board. If you cannot perform chip transfer yourself, a local computer technician should be able to handle it. For orders of $60 or more we include a free adaptation service that either transplants the ROM chip onto the new board or reprograms the replacement PCB with the correct ROM data.
