This sale is for the hard drive PCB / logic board only — no hard drive is included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Designed for HDD repair and data recovery tasks, this replacement PCB can be used to attempt restoration of a malfunctioning drive. Before purchasing, confirm that a PCB swap will address your problem by following our hard drive diagnostics guide and verify part compatibility with the Donor Matching Guide. Most drive PCBs store unique data in a ROM "memory" chip; that ROM content is required for correct drive operation and must be moved to or programmed on the replacement board. If possible, the ROM chip can be physically transferred by a local computer technician, or the new PCB can be reprogrammed with the correct ROM data. For orders of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service, which covers either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new board or reprogramming the PCB with the proper ROM.
