Product is the hard drive circuit board / logic board (PCB) only — no hard drive is included. Because we carry a large inventory of PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This PCB is intended for use in hard drive repair or data recovery. To confirm a replacement board will resolve your problem, please consult our hard drive diagnostics guide and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Many hard drive PCBs store unique calibration and configuration data in a ROM "memory" chip; that ROM data is required for the drive to function correctly. The ROM chip or its contents must be transferred or programmed onto the replacement board. If the chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transplant. For orders of $60 or more, we include complimentary adaptation: either relocating the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
