This sale is for the hard drive PCB / logic board ONLY — the hard drive itself is not included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Intended use: data recovery or HDD repair. Before purchasing, verify that a replacement PCB will resolve your issue by consulting our hard drive diagnostics guide, and confirm compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most WD PCBs contain unique data stored in a ROM memory chip that is required for the drive to function correctly; that ROM or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board (or the new board must be reprogrammed with the correct ROM data). If the ROM chip can be physically moved, a qualified local computer technician can usually perform the transplant. We provide a complimentary adaptation service for orders of $60 or more — this service covers either moving the ROM chip to the replacement PCB or reprogramming the new board with the proper ROM information.
