This sale is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive or enclosure is included. We stock a large number of these PCBs, so the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Purpose: These replacement PCBs are intended for hard drive repair and data recovery work. Replacing the board can resolve many issues, but it is important to confirm a PCB swap will fix your drive by following our hard drive diagnostics guide. Compatibility: Verify compatibility before ordering by consulting the Donor Matching Guide. Many WD PCBs store unique drive-specific data in the ROM ("memory") chip; that information is required for correct operation. The ROM chip or its data must be transferred to the replacement board. ROM transfer: If the ROM chip can be physically moved, a local technician should be able to transplant it to the new PCB. For customers purchasing $60 or more, we provide a complimentary adaptation service which includes either moving the ROM chip to the replacement board or reprogramming the new board with the correct ROM data.
