This sale is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — the drive itself is not included. Because we stock a large quantity of PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Intended for use in hard drive repair and data recovery, this PCB should be validated before purchase: follow our hard drive diagnostics guide to confirm a PCB replacement will address your issue, and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Many hard drive PCBs store unique configuration data in the ROM "memory" chip; that ROM data is required for proper drive operation. The ROM chip or its data must be moved or reprogrammed onto the replacement board. If transferring the chip is feasible, a local computer technician can typically perform the swap. For orders of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service, which covers either transplanting the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
