This listing is for the hard drive PCB / logic board only — no hard drive is included. Because we stock large quantities, the actual circuit board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Intended use: data recovery or HDD repair. Before purchasing, verify that a replacement PCB will resolve your problem by following our Hard Drive Diagnostics Guide and confirm compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most WD PCBs store critical drive-specific information in a ROM "memory" chip; that data is required for correct drive operation and must be transferred to the replacement board. If the ROM chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transfer. For orders of $60 or more we provide a complimentary adaptation service that either transfers the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprograms the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
