This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we stock large quantities, the actual PCB you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Intended for data recovery or hard drive repair, this board is supplied as a replacement part for technicians and DIY repairs. Before purchasing, verify that a PCB swap will resolve your issue by following our hard drive diagnostics guide, and confirm compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most WD PCBs include unique ROM ("memory") chip data that is required for correct drive operation. That ROM chip or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board, or the new board must be reprogrammed with the correct ROM data. If the ROM chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transplant. For customers with a purchase of $60 or more, we provide a complimentary adaptation service that covers either transferring the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the proper ROM data.
