This listing is for a hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive included. Because we keep a large inventory of PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. These replacement PCBs are intended for hard drive repair and data recovery tasks. Most hard drive PCBs store unique information on the ROM ("memory") chip; that ROM data is required for the drive to function properly. The ROM chip itself, or its data, must be transferred to the replacement board — if the chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician can typically perform this. For purchases of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service: we will either transplant the ROM chip onto your new PCB or reprogram the new board with the correct ROM data.
