This sale is for the hard drive circuit board / PCB / logic board ONLY — the drive itself is not included. Because we have a large inventory, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This PCB is intended for use in hard drive repair or data recovery work. Before purchasing, confirm that a replacement PCB will resolve your issue by consulting our Hard Drive Diagnostics Guide and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Many WD PCBs store unique drive parameters in a ROM memory chip; that ROM data is required for the drive to function correctly. The ROM chip (or its contents) must be transferred to the replacement board or the replacement board must be reprogrammed with the correct ROM data. If you cannot perform the transfer yourself, a local computer technician can usually move the chip. For customers spending $60 or more, we include a complimentary adaptation service covering either physical ROM chip transfer or reprogramming the new PCB with the proper ROM data.
