This listing is for the hard drive printed circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no HDD is included. Because we stock a large number of boards, the exact PCB you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Intended use: data recovery and hard drive repair. Important: most hard drive PCBs hold unique data in a ROM ("memory") chip that is required for normal drive operation. That ROM—or its contents—must be transferred or written to the replacement board. If the ROM chip can be moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transplant. For customers spending $60 or more we provide a complimentary adaptation service that includes either physically relocating the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
