This sale is for the hard drive PCB / logic board ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This part is intended for hard drive repair or data recovery work. Before purchasing, please consult our hard drive diagnostics guide to confirm a PCB swap will resolve the problem, and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most hard drive circuit boards contain unique data stored in a ROM "memory" chip; that information is required for the drive to function correctly. The ROM chip itself, or its data, must be transferred to the replacement board. If the chip can be moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transfer. For customers spending $60 or more, we include a complimentary adaptation service that covers either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
