This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — a complete hard drive is not included. Because we maintain a large inventory of PCBs, the actual board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Intended use: data recovery and hard drive repair. Many hard drive PCBs store unique factory data in a ROM "memory" chip; that information is required for the drive to operate correctly. The ROM chip or its data must be transferred to the replacement board. If the ROM can be moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transplant. For orders of $60 or more, we provide a complimentary adaptation service that includes either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
