Listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive included! Because we stock a large quantity of PCBs, the exact circuit board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This PCB is intended for hard drive repair and data recovery use. Most hard drive PCBs store unique configuration data in a ROM "memory" chip. That ROM data is required for the drive to function correctly; the ROM chip itself or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board. If you cannot transfer the ROM yourself, a local computer technician should be able to move the chip or handle the transfer. For customers with orders of $60 or more, we include a complimentary adaptation service that covers either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
