Item is for the hard drive PCB/logic board only — no hard drive included. Because we maintain a large inventory of PCBs, the exact board shipped may differ slightly from the photo. These circuit boards are sold for hard drive repair and data recovery purposes. Prior to ordering, confirm whether a replacement PCB will resolve your problem by following our hard drive diagnostics guide and checking compatibility with the Donor Matching Guide. Most drive PCBs contain a ROM ("memory") chip that stores unique, drive-specific data required for proper operation; that ROM chip or its data must be transferred to the replacement board. If the ROM chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician can typically perform the transplant. For purchases of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service — either moving the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
