Item is for the hard drive PCB / logic board only — the hard drive platter/assembly is NOT included. Because we maintain a large inventory, the exact PCB you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This board is intended for use in hard drive repair and data recovery projects. Before purchasing, verify that a PCB swap will resolve your issue by following our hard drive diagnostics guide, and confirm part compatibility with the Donor Matching Guide. Important: many WD PCBs store unique configuration data in a ROM memory chip; that ROM information is required for the drive to function correctly. The ROM chip itself or its data must be transferred to the replacement circuit board. If the chip can be desoldered and moved, a local computer technician should be able to perform the transfer. For customers spending $60 or more, we provide a complimentary adaptation service that either relocates the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprograms the new board with the correct ROM data.
