This sale includes the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — the hard drive itself is not included. Because we maintain a large inventory, the actual PCB you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Intended use: data recovery and hard drive repair. Before purchasing, run our hard drive diagnostics guide to confirm a replacement PCB will address your issue, and verify part compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most WD hard drive PCBs contain unique data stored on a ROM "memory" chip that is required for proper drive operation. That ROM or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board. If the ROM chip can be physically moved, a local computer repair specialist can usually perform the transplant. For orders of $60 or more we provide a complimentary adaptation service that either moves the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprograms the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
