This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we have a large inventory, the actual PCB you receive may differ slightly from the photo. The board is supplied for use in hard drive repair and data recovery tasks. Before ordering, verify that a replacement PCB will resolve your issue by following our hard drive diagnostics guide, and confirm part compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most WD PCBs contain unique information stored in the ROM "memory" chip that is required for the drive to operate correctly; that ROM chip or its data must be moved or copied to the replacement board. If you cannot perform the transfer yourself, a local computer technician can usually transfer the chip. For customers spending $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service, which covers either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the new board with the correct ROM data.
