This sale is for the hard drive PCB / logic board ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This component is intended for use in hard drive repair or data recovery. Before purchasing, use our hard drive diagnostics guide to confirm a replacement PCB will resolve your issue and check compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most hard drive PCBs store unique configuration data in a ROM memory chip; that ROM data is required for the drive to function correctly. The ROM chip or its contents must be moved to the replacement board or the new board must be reprogrammed with the correct ROM data. If possible, a local computer technician can perform the chip transplant. For orders of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service that covers either transplanting the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
