This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive included. Because we stock a large quantity of PCBs, the actual board you receive may vary slightly from the photo. Intended for data recovery and HDD repair of the listed WD models, this replacement PCB should be used only after confirming compatibility. Most hard drive circuit boards contain unique data in the ROM "memory" chip; that information is required for correct drive operation and must be transferred or reprogrammed onto the replacement board. If the ROM chip can be moved to the new PCB, a local computer technician can usually perform the transfer; otherwise the ROM data must be reprogrammed.
