This sale is for the hard drive printed circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. The PCB is intended for repair or data-recovery use with compatible WD drives. Because we stock a large quantity of boards, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Before purchasing, confirm compatibility by consulting the Donor Matching Guide and run our hard drive diagnostics guide to verify that a replacement PCB is likely to resolve the problem. Most WD PCBs contain unique information stored in the ROM memory chip that is required for the drive to function correctly. That ROM data must be transferred to the replacement board — either by physically moving the ROM chip to the new PCB or by reprogramming the ROM on the new board. If you are not comfortable performing the transfer yourself, a local computer technician can usually complete the soldering or reprogramming. For customers with orders of $60 or more we provide a complimentary adaptation service which includes moving the ROM chip onto the replacement board or reprogramming the new PCB with the correct ROM data.
