This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) only — no hard drive is included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. These replacement PCBs are intended for HDD repair or data recovery work. Before ordering, confirm that a PCB swap will resolve your issue by following our hard drive diagnostics guide, and verify part compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most drive circuit boards store unique calibration and configuration data in a ROM "memory" chip; that information is required for the drive to function correctly. The ROM chip or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board — if the chip can be moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transfer. For orders of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service, which covers either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
