Important ROM information: Many hard drive circuit boards store unique parameters in a ROM "memory" chip. That ROM data is required for the drive to function correctly and must be transferred to the replacement PCB. If the ROM chip itself can be moved to the new board, a local computer technician can usually perform that transfer.
