This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) only — the hard drive is not included. Because we stock a large quantity of PCBs, the actual board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Intended use: hard drive repair or data recovery. Before purchasing, confirm that a replacement PCB will resolve your problem by following our hard drive diagnostics guide and checking compatibility with the Donor Matching Guide. Most hard drive PCBs store unique calibration and configuration in a ROM "memory" chip; that ROM data is required for the drive to function properly. The ROM chip itself, or its data, must be transferred to the replacement board. If the chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transfer. For customers spending $60 or more, we include a complimentary adaptation service that will either transplant the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprogram the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
