This sale is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — the hard drive itself is not included. Because we stock a large quantity of PCBs, the board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This PCB is intended for hard drive repair or data recovery work. Before purchasing, confirm compatibility by consulting the Donor Matching Guide and run the steps in our hard drive diagnostics guide to ensure a replacement PCB will resolve your issue. Many WD PCBs store essential, unique data in a ROM "memory" chip; that information must be present on the replacement board for the drive to operate correctly. If possible, the ROM chip can be transplanted to the new circuit board — a local computer technician can usually perform that procedure. For customers who spend $60 or more we provide a complimentary adaptation service which includes either moving the ROM chip onto the replacement PCB or reprogramming the new board with the correct ROM data.
