This listing is for the hard drive PCB / logic board only — no hard drive is included. Because we have a large inventory, the actual PCB you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This board is designed for use in hard drive repair or data recovery. Before ordering, confirm compatibility using our Donor Matching Guide and verify that a PCB swap will resolve your issue by following the hard drive diagnostics guide. Most WD PCBs store unique configuration data in a ROM "memory" chip; that information is required for the drive to operate correctly. The ROM chip or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board. If the chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transfer. For customers spending $60 or more, we include a complimentary adaptation service that will either transplant the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogram the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
