This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no HDD is included. We stock a large number of these PCBs, so the board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Many WD PCBs contain unique information in a ROM ("memory") chip that is required for the drive to function correctly; that ROM or its data must be transferred to the replacement board. If the ROM chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transfer.
