This sale is for the hard drive PCB (printed circuit board / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we carry a large number of these boards, the exact PCB you receive may vary slightly from the pictured unit. Intended for use in hard drive repair or data recovery, this replacement board can be used only when matched and adapted correctly. Before purchasing, confirm that a PCB swap will resolve your issue by following our hard drive diagnostics guide and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most hard drive PCBs contain unique information stored in a ROM (memory) chip; that ROM data is required for the drive to operate correctly. The ROM chip or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board. If the chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician can typically perform the transfer. For orders of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service — either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
