This listing is for the hard drive PCB / logic board only — the hard drive itself is NOT included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the actual board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. These replacement circuit boards are intended for HDD repair and data recovery tasks. Many PCBs store unique drive configuration data in a ROM "memory" chip; that information is required for correct operation. The ROM chip or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board. If a physical chip transplant is possible, a local computer technician can usually perform it. For customers spending $60 or more, we provide a complimentary adaptation service that includes either transferring the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
