Sale is for the hard drive PCB / logic board ONLY — the hard drive itself is not included. Because we keep a large inventory, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This PCB is sold for hard drive repair and data recovery applications. Before ordering, confirm a replacement PCB will resolve your issue by using our hard drive diagnostics guide, and verify compatibility by consulting the Donor Matching Guide. Many hard drive PCBs store unique calibration and firmware information in a ROM "memory" chip; that data is required for the drive to function correctly. The ROM chip or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board. If the ROM chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician should be able to perform the transplant. For orders of $60 or more we provide a complimentary adaptation service that includes either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
