Because we stock a large quantity, the exact PCB you receive may vary slightly from the photo. These boards are intended for use in hard drive repair and data recovery. Many hard drive PCBs contain drive-specific data stored in a ROM "memory" chip; that information is required for correct operation. The ROM chip or its stored data must be transferred to the replacement board. If the chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transfer. For purchases of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service: we will either transplant the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogram the replacement board with the proper ROM data.
