This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) only — the physical hard drive is not included. Multiple PCBs are in stock, so the item you receive may differ slightly from the photograph. The board is intended for hard drive repair and data-recovery applications. Before purchasing, confirm whether replacing the PCB will resolve your issue by consulting our hard drive diagnostics guide, and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most WD SATA 3.5 circuit boards store unique configuration data in a ROM "memory" chip; that information is required for the drive to function correctly. The ROM chip or its contents must be transferred to the replacement PCB. If the chip can be moved, a local computer technician should be able to perform the transfer.
