Item is for the hard drive PCB (logic board) ONLY — no hard drive included. Because we ship from a large inventory, the actual PCB you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This board is intended for hard drive repair and data recovery purposes. Before purchasing, confirm that a PCB swap will resolve your problem by following our hard drive diagnostics guide, and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most hard drive circuit boards contain unique information stored in a ROM "memory" chip; that data is required for proper operation and must be transferred to the replacement PCB. If the ROM chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transfer; otherwise the replacement board must be reprogrammed with the correct ROM data. For orders of $60 or more we provide a complimentary adaptation service that includes either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the new board with the proper ROM data.
