This sale is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the exact board shipped may differ slightly from the photo. This PCB is intended for hard drive repair and data recovery use. Before purchasing, confirm that replacing the PCB is likely to resolve your issue by following our hard drive diagnostics guide, and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most WD PCBs contain unique data stored in a ROM ("memory") chip that is required for correct drive operation; that ROM or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board. If you cannot perform the transfer yourself, a local computer technician can usually move the chip. For customers with orders of $60 or more, we include complimentary adaptation service, which covers either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
