Item includes the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is supplied. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This replacement PCB is intended for use in hard drive repair or data recovery scenarios. Before purchasing, confirm that replacing the PCB will resolve your issue by following our hard drive diagnostics guide, and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most WD drive circuit boards hold unique information in a ROM "memory" chip that is required for correct drive operation; the ROM chip or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board. If the ROM chip can be moved, a local computer technician should be able to perform the transfer. For orders of $60 or more, we provide a complimentary adaptation service that includes either moving the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
