Product is the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — the actual hard drive is not included. Because we stock a large number of replacement PCBs, the unit you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This PCB is intended for hard drive repair and data recovery use. Before purchasing, confirm that a replacement board will resolve your issue by consulting our hard drive diagnostics guide, and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most hard drive PCBs store unique information in a ROM "memory" chip that is required for the drive to operate correctly; the ROM chip or its data must be transferred to the replacement board. If the ROM chip can be moved, a local computer technician should be able to perform the transfer. For orders of $60 or more we provide a complimentary adaptation service that includes either moving the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
