Item is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we have a large inventory of PCBs, the unit you receive may look slightly different than the photo. This board is sold for use in hard drive repair and data recovery efforts. Before purchasing, confirm that a replacement PCB will resolve your issue by following our hard drive diagnostics guide, and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most WD hard drive circuit boards store unique configuration data in the ROM "memory" chip; that ROM data is required for the drive to function correctly. The ROM chip itself or its data must be transferred to the replacement board; if the chip can be physically moved, a local technician can usually perform the transfer. For customers who spend $60 or more, we provide a complimentary adaptation service that either moves the ROM chip to the new PCB or programs the new board with the correct ROM data.
