This sale is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) only — the hard drive itself is NOT included. We stock many PCBs, so the actual board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This PCB is intended for HDD repair and data recovery use. Before purchasing, verify that a replacement board will resolve your issue by following our hard drive diagnostics guide, and confirm compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most WD PCBs store unique drive-specific data in a ROM (memory) chip; that information is required for the drive to operate correctly. The ROM chip or its data must be transferred or programmed onto the replacement board. If chip transplantation is possible, a local computer technician can typically perform the transfer. For orders of $60 or more we provide a complimentary adaptation service that either moves the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprograms the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
