This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) only — the hard drive itself is not included. We maintain a large inventory of PCBs, so the board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. These replacement PCBs are intended for hard drive repair and data recovery tasks. Many hard drive PCBs store unique configuration data in a ROM (memory) chip that is required for the drive to function properly; that ROM or its contents must be moved or copied to the replacement board. If you cannot perform the transfer yourself, a local computer technician can usually transplant the chip. For customers who spend $60 or more we provide a complimentary adaptation service that includes either relocating the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprogramming the new board with the correct ROM data.
