This sale is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no complete hard drive or platter assembly is included. Due to high inventory levels, the actual PCB you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This PCB is intended for hard drive repair and data recovery work. Before purchasing, verify that a replacement board will resolve your issue by following our Hard Drive Diagnostics Guide. Confirm part compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Many WD PCBs contain unique ROM ("memory") data required for the drive to operate correctly. That ROM chip or its contents must be transferred or reprogrammed onto the replacement circuit board. If the ROM chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician should be able to perform the transfer. For customers with orders of $60 or more, we include a complimentary adaptation service: either relocating the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprogramming the new board with the correct ROM data.
