This sale is for the hard drive printed circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. The board is intended for hard drive repair or data recovery work. Before purchasing, confirm that a replacement PCB will resolve your drive’s problem by consulting our hard drive diagnostics guide, and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most hard drive circuit boards store unique configuration data in a ROM ("memory") chip; that ROM data is required for the drive to function correctly. The ROM chip itself, or its data, must be moved or copied to the replacement board. If physical transfer of the ROM chip is possible, a local computer repair technician can typically perform the transplant. For customers spending $60 or more we provide a complimentary adaptation service that either transfers the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprograms the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
