This listing includes only the hard drive circuit board (PCB/logic board) — the hard drive itself is not included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. The board is intended for hard drive repair and data-recovery purposes. Before purchasing, verify compatibility using our Donor Matching Guide and consult the hard drive diagnostics guide to confirm a PCB swap will resolve your problem. Many HDD PCBs store unique configuration data in a ROM (memory) chip; that information is required for normal drive operation. The ROM chip or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board; if you cannot perform this transfer yourself, a local computer technician can usually do it. For orders of $60 or more we provide a complimentary adaptation service that either moves the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprograms the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
