Sale is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — the hard drive itself is not included. Because we maintain a large stock, the exact PCB you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This board is intended for use in hard drive repair or data recovery. Before purchasing, confirm that a replacement PCB will address your failure by following our hard drive diagnostics guide, and verify part compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Many WD SATA 3.5 PCBs contain unique information stored in a ROM “memory” chip; that data is required for correct drive operation. The ROM chip or its contents must be transferred or programmed onto the replacement board. If the chip can be moved, a local computer technician should be able to perform the transfer. For customers spending $60 or more, we include a complimentary adaptation service that either moves the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprograms the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
