This sale is for the hard drive circuit board / logic board (PCB) only — the actual hard drive is not included. Because we stock many PCBs, the board you receive may differ slightly in appearance from the photo. Intended for use in hard drive repair or data recovery, this PCB is a replacement part and should be verified for compatibility before installation. Many WD PCBs store drive-specific data in a ROM (memory) chip that is required for correct operation. That ROM data must be transferred or reprogrammed onto the replacement board for the drive to function. If the ROM chip can be physically moved to the new PCB, a qualified computer technician can perform the transplant. For customer convenience, we provide a complimentary adaptation service for purchases of $60 or more — this includes either transplanting the ROM chip onto the replacement PCB or reprogramming the new board with the correct ROM data.
