This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive included. We stock a large quantity of PCBs, so the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Intended use: data recovery or hard drive repair. Most HDD PCBs contain unique configuration stored in a ROM (memory) chip; that ROM data is required for the drive to operate correctly. The ROM chip or its data must be transferred or reprogrammed onto the replacement board. If the ROM chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transplant. For orders of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service that covers either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
